Gov. Adeleke’s Absence: PDP Labels APC’s Criticism “Political Mischief” - The Alternative News

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of abandoning his official duties by leaving the state for over two weeks without public notice or formally transferring power to his deputy.

The APC described Adeleke’s unannounced absence as “abnormal” and questioned who was running state affairs in his stead, further alleging that the trip followed a failed attempt to defect to their party.

In response, Adeleke’s spokesperson Olawale Rasheed confirmed the governor was in the United States for the wedding of his nephew and music superstar, Davido (David Adeleke).

Rasheed dismissed the APC's claim as “political mischief” and extended a sarcastic invitation to the opposition to attend the wedding, physically or virtually.

Rasheed added that the governor remains in constant communication with his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, who is overseeing state affairs.

He emphasized that Adeleke had not taken any official vacation since assuming office in November 2022, and his current trip was brief and family-related.
