Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger recently released from custody following a dispute with the airline, has thanked supporters and revealed she is still in pain from her alleged treatment during detention.
In a statement posted on Instagram on Wednesday, Emmanson, known online as #soft_commy — said she requires rest and medical attention before sharing her full version of events.
“Thank you so much for the prayers, love and support. I’ve been released from prison, but I’m still in pains due to how I was treated. I just need some rest and medical treatment before I give out my own version of the event… I really appreciate y’all from the bottom of my heart. God bless you all," she wrote.
Her comments follow a widely publicised confrontation between her and an Ibom Air hostess, which reportedly led to her arrest and detention. While the details remain contested, Emmanson’s latest statement focuses on the physical and emotional toll of the ordeal.
Ibom Air has yet to respond publicly to her post, though earlier statements confirmed a “customer service incident” occurred and was being addressed internally. The airline has previously emphasised that passenger and staff welfare is a top priority.
Emmanson’s update has drawn thousands of supportive comments online, with many calling for an official investigation into her treatment in custody.
