Tragedy struck in Enugu State on Wednesday when a Dangote truck rammed into a vehicle at Four Corner, along the Enugu, Port Harcourt Expressway, Nkanu West Local Government Area, crushing an entire family and three other individuals.

Eyewitnesses described the accident as horrific, with viral footage showing the car flattened beyond recognition. “A family were said to have been in the vehicle, and none of them came out alive,” a witness recounted.

The incident comes barely a week after another Dangote truck was linked to the death of Ruth Otabor, the younger sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna. Ruth, who initially survived with critical injuries after a crash in Auchi, Edo State, passed away despite medical support from Dangote Group and its insurance partners.

In a condolence message released on August 31, 2025, the Dangote Group expressed sorrow over Ruth’s death, noting that arrangements had been made to fly her to India for advanced treatment before she succumbed to her injuries. The company reiterated its commitment to safety, accountability, and compassion in its operations.

Authorities in Enugu are yet to release an official statement on Wednesday’s fatal crash, but emergency responders confirmed that the bodies of the victims have been evacuated from the scene.
