A popular female wedding MC, known in Yoruba culture as an Alaga, has been left devastated after her driver allegedly fled with her life savings in foreign currency.

The MC, identified as Alaga Abisola Bamidele, took to social media to narrate her ordeal, revealing that the suspect, Ibrahim Opeyemi Gasali, whom she employed in July 2025, absconded with a bag of dollars she had painstakingly saved for her son’s school fees.

According to Abisola, the incident occurred after Ibrahim dropped her off at an event and then returned to her home, where he allegedly stole the bag containing the dollars.

She explained that she had opted to keep her savings at home after a frustrating experience when she needed foreign currency to send her older child abroad for studies. Despite having enough funds in her domiciliary account, she said the bank could not provide the required dollars, forcing her to patronize the black market.

Determined to avoid such a challenge in the future, she began saving dollars in cash at home, a decision that has now turned into a painful loss.

With tears in her eyes, the distraught MC pleaded for public assistance in locating Ibrahim, stating that even his family members claimed ignorance of his whereabouts.

 “I employed him because he seemed humble and hardworking. I never imagined he could do this. Please, anyone who knows where Ibrahim Opeyemi Gasali is should help me. My son’s future is at stake,” she lamented.
