Fubara Explains Rationale Behind Appointment of Special Advisers - The Alternative News

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has explained that the appointment of Special Advisers is aimed at strengthening teamwork within government and ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of governance in the state.

The governor charged the newly appointed advisers to brace up for the task ahead and remain fully committed to his administration’s vision of delivering effective, people-centred governance to the people of Rivers State.

Governor Fubara gave the charge on Friday, January 2, 2025, at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, shortly after administering the oath of office to the appointees.

Those sworn in are Barr. Eloka Tasie-Amadi, Prof. Peter Medee, Emmanuel Frank Fubara, Victor Ekaro, and Dr. Darlington Orji.

Speaking at the event, the governor said the appointments were necessary to reinforce the administrative structure of government.

“What we are doing this afternoon is to bring in some persons on board to ensure that the wheels of governance continue to roll smoothly in our state,” he said.

He reiterated the need for the advisers to work collectively in support of government policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of Rivers people.
