The Senate Minority Whip, Osita Ngwu, representing Enugu West Senatorial District, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Ngwu’s defection letter was read on the floor of the Senate of Nigeria on Wednesday, confirming his formal exit from the PDP.

With this development, the number of PDP senators in the Red Chamber has reportedly dropped to six, further altering the balance of power in the Senate.
