Iran has reiterated that it will not relinquish its stockpile of enriched uranium, maintaining a firm stance amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said the transfer of Iran’s enriched uranium abroad is not under consideration in any potential agreement.
“The country’s definitive position is to preserve nuclear achievements within Iran’s territory and the claims made in this regard are completely denied,” he stated.
Baghaei disclosed that Iran is currently reviewing a proposal from the United States, reportedly conveyed through Pakistan’s military leadership during a recent diplomatic engagement. However, he dismissed media reports speculating on the details of the offer.
He further addressed the continued disruption to shipping activities in the Strait of Hormuz, noting that normal maritime operations have yet to resume.
According to him, the situation is being exacerbated by alleged violations of the ceasefire and threats to Iranian ports and vessels, which he attributed to actions by the United States.
