The Oba Rasidi Ladoja has inaugurated the Ibadan Community Guard to strengthen security across the ancient city.

The initiative is designed to support existing security agencies in ensuring effective policing across the eleven Local Government Areas that make up Ibadanland. Members of the Community Guard are to be deployed across all council areas.

The inauguration, held at the Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, was prompted by growing security concerns in parts of the city.

In addition to the security outfit, the monarch also launched the Ibadan Economic Investment and Business Development Desk, alongside the Ibadan Food Security Initiative, also known as “Gaari Ibadan,” aimed at boosting local economic growth and food sustainability.

The event drew prominent stakeholders, including Onikepo Akande, Dotun Sanusi, and Ajeniyi Ajewole, as well as members of the Olubadan-In-Council.
