The Chairman of the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheikh Zakaria Olohungbebe, has lauded the Ogun State Government for its strong support and commitment to the welfare of pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Speaking with journalists before the movement of pilgrims from Mecca to Mina, Sheikh Olohungbebe, described the journey as an important stage of Hajj that would reflect obedience, sacrifice, unity and submission to the will of Allah.
He explained that the movement to Mina would help prepare pilgrims spiritually for the major Hajj rites in Arafat and Muzdalifah, while also teaching patience, humility and devotion among Muslims from different parts of the world.
The Board Chairman said the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, with the support of the Ogun State Government, had put proper arrangements in place to ensure the comfort and safety of all pilgrims in Mina.
According to him, the welfare package included good accommodation, feeding, medical support, transportation and proper guidance from officials to make the exercise smooth and stress-free for Ogun pilgrims.
He advised pilgrims to remain calm, disciplined and prayerful throughout the Hajj rites, more importantly too, pray for Ogun State and Nigeria, urging them to obey instructions from officials and Saudi authorities, move in groups, avoid unnecessary roaming and follow all safety guidelines, while assuring families back home that Ogun pilgrims would be safe and encourage the pilgrims.
