2027: APC Chairman’s Aide Defects to NDC After Losing Ticket - The Alternative News

A former member of the House of Representatives, Mustapha Bala Dawaki, has defected from the All Progressives Congress to the opposition New Nigeria Development Company, following the loss of his return ticket.

Dawaki, who represented Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency in Kano State, reportedly joined the new party barely a week after losing the APC ticket through a consensus arrangement.

His defection was confirmed by Saifullahi Hassan, media aide to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who disclosed that the move took place at Kwankwaso’s Miller Road residence in Kano.

According to Hassan, the former Chief of Staff to the APC National Chairman has now been formally received into the Kwankwasiyya political movement within the NDC.

The development comes amid ongoing internal arrangements within the party as it prepares to decide candidates for elective positions across the state, largely through consensus.

However, it remains unclear whether Dawaki will be granted an automatic ticket to contest in the forthcoming elections under his new political platform.
