Igboho Reveals Delay in 'Iru Ekun Security Network Operations - The Alternative News

Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has disclosed that the commencement of operations of the Iru Ekun Security Network is being delayed due to pending approval from the Federal Government.

In a statement issued on Monday, Igboho explained that all necessary documentation for the registration of the security outfit had already been submitted, noting that he is currently awaiting official clearance.

He expressed optimism that approval would be granted soon, while commending President Bola Tinubu for what he described as a strong commitment to addressing insecurity across the country, particularly in the South-West region.

Igboho further stated that the Iru Ekun Security Network is prepared to collaborate with key security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, to combat criminal activities such as kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism.

He also affirmed his readiness to comply with the executive order introduced by Seyi Makinde, which regulates the operations of private security organisations in Oyo State.

According to him, strengthening security, especially in rural communities, is essential for socioeconomic development, agricultural productivity, and the overall well-being of citizens.

The development highlights ongoing efforts by regional actors to complement federal security initiatives amid persistent security challenges in parts of the country.
