JUST IN: Tinubu Begins 2-Week Trip to France, Kenya, Rwanda | The Alternative News

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday for a three-nation visit to France, Kenya, and Rwanda.
This was disclosed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who provided details of the itinerary.

According to him, Tinubu’s first stop will be in France before proceeding to Nairobi to attend the Africa-France Summit scheduled to begin next week.

The summit, co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, will focus on key areas including energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, restructuring of global financing architecture, and climate action.

Tinubu’s participation at the summit, slated for May 11 to May 12, is expected to reinforce Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with African countries and France.

With the theme “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” the summit will bring together African leaders and their French counterparts to deliberate on issues such as economic transformation, climate resilience, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, technological advancement, and peace-building initiatives.

Following the Kenya engagement, the President will travel to Kigali for the annual Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to May 15.

The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” is expected to attract over 2,000 private sector leaders, investors, and policymakers, focusing on accelerating economic transformation through regional integration and cross-border investments. It is being held in partnership with the International Finance Corporation.

At both summits, Tinubu is expected to present Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms and engage in high-level meetings with global and African business leaders.

The President will be accompanied by senior government officials and is expected to return to Nigeria after concluding the Rwanda engagement.
