Nigerians Enjoying Democracy Dividends Under Tinubu - Presidency Fires Back at Obi - The Alternative News

The Nigerian Presidency has defended the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that citizens across the country are already benefiting from the gains of democracy under his leadership.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made this known while responding to recent criticisms by Peter Obi.

Onanuga accused Obi of deliberately overlooking key achievements recorded under the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to him, several impactful policies, programmes, and projects have been implemented since the government assumed office.

The presidential aide’s remarks followed Obi’s appearance on Channels Television, where he described the administration’s policies as “renewed hopelessness,” arguing that they have worsened economic hardship and pushed more Nigerians into poverty.

In a counter-response, Onanuga said Obi’s criticism was politically motivated and disconnected from realities on ground. He insisted that the administration’s initiatives, such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, are already making tangible impacts nationwide.

He added that government officials have been engaging with communities across all six geopolitical zones to assess progress and gather feedback, maintaining that signs of economic recovery are evident.

The Presidency concluded that Nigerians are witnessing improvements and urged critics to acknowledge ongoing efforts rather than dismiss them.
