The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has slashed the pump price of premium motor spirit (petrol) at its retail outlets from N945 to N910 per litre, marking a ₦30 reduction.
The adjustment was observed on Saturday across several NNPCL stations in Abuja, including those along Zone 6, Kubwa Expressway, and Wuse Zone 4.
This price cut follows closely on the heels of Dangote Refinery's decision to reduce its ex-depot petrol price from ₦880 to ₦840 per litre, attributed to a recent decline in global crude oil prices.
In response, members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) have also adjusted their pump prices. In Abuja, petrol is now selling between ₦930 and ₦940, down from previous prices of ₦945 to ₦975. In Lagos, prices have dropped from ₦925 to ₦890 per litre.
The latest development offers slight relief to consumers amid ongoing nationwide concerns over fuel affordability and supply stability.
