In commemoration of his 58th birthday anniversary, Founder, Less Privileged Children Encouragement Initiative, (EI) Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi has donated a sick-bay, as well as empowered over 400 school pupils in Abeokuta and Ososa area of Ogun State, with essential educational materials, school uniforms, and sandals.
The two-day outreach programme, which was carried out in company of his wife and co-founder, Dr. Bukunola Akinlesi, among other volunteers, and held between 26th and 27th of February had beneficiaries from St. Joseph's RCM Primary School in Isabo, Abeokuta; St. John's Primary School in Ososa; and St. Thomas Primary School also in Ososa areas of the State.
EI donated a sick-bay to St. Thomas Primary School, which was commissioned by the Gbegande of Ososa, Oba (Dr.) Toyese Alatise.
Additionally, 24 pupils at St. John's Primary School, Ososa, whose uniforms were torn, were provided with new ones. Another 228 pupils across the schools comprising; 51 boys and 37 girls at St. Joseph's (88 total); 44 boys and 39 girls at St. John's (83 total); and 27 boys and 30 girls at St. Thomas (57 total), received new school sandals.
The monarch praised Dr. Akinlesi's selfless philanthropy, despite just being a civil servant, urging others to emulate him.
In their separate remarks, Dr. Akinlesi and wife who were appreciative of the support given them, buttressed their commitment to impacting lives, by reaching out to the under privileged children, encouraging others to imbibe the culture of serving the needy.
According to them, when people focus only on meeting their own needs, meeting other people's needs will be impossible to do.
EI has to its credit a number of achievements: between year 2024-2025, EI has provided water facilities for LG Primary School in Magbon, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area; donated a sick bay to Molipa Primary School in Molipa, Ijebu-Ode; and supplied uniforms and materials to pupils of UBE Model Primary School in Olorombo, Abeokuta, among others.
The organization has supported over 200,000 children across several states in Nigeria, and is currently sponsoring 52 students, among which are undergraduates.
